A lifelong Western Pennsylvanian raised in a middle-class, union household. Both parents were proud United Steelworkers members. Cherri learned early that dignity comes from hard work, perseverance, and looking out for one another. A proud member of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, Local 400.
A Calling to Care
A career nurse spanning occupational health, geriatrics, psychiatry, and health informatics. Today she serves as a certified school nurse, ensuring children are healthy and ready to learn.

Holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Twice selected for the prestigious Salk Fellowship, developing deep expertise in how Medicaid affects working families and seniors.
