EdD, MSN, RN-CSN. Lifelong Western Pennsylvanian. Raised by steelworkers. Ready to take the fight to Harrisburg for working families.
The data is clear. Harrisburg isn't working for us.
Cherri Rogers is a lifelong resident of Western Pennsylvania, having spent most of her life in the 58th Legislative District. Raised in a middle-class, union household where both parents were proud members of the United Steelworkers, Cherri learned early that dignity comes from hard work, perseverance, and looking out for one another.
Although Cherri pursued a professional path in healthcare and higher education rather than the mill floor, her commitment to organized labor never wavered. She is a proud member of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, Local 400, and her family's union ties remain strong—her husband is also a USWA member.
As a nurse, Cherri answered a calling to care for others. Throughout her career, she has been a leader and advocate for evidence-based nursing, clinical education, and healthcare innovation.
Cherri's leadership is rooted in real, hands-on experience. Her nursing background spans occupational health, geriatrics, psychiatry, medical-surgical care, and health informatics. Today, she serves her community as a certified school nurse, ensuring children are healthy and ready to learn.
Cherri holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, giving her deep insight into both K-12 and higher education systems. She was twice selected for the prestigious Salk Fellowship, most recently as part of a Medicaid-focused cohort.
Through this work, she developed a strong understanding of how Medicaid affects working families, seniors, people with disabilities, and rural communities.
Cherri knows that families across Western Pennsylvania are feeling squeezed by rising costs—from groceries and healthcare to housing and utilities. She is running because she believes government should help make life more affordable, not harder.
Cherri will fight to lower healthcare costs, protect and expand access to Medicaid, defend good union jobs, and ensure tax dollars deliver real relief to working people.
"Called once to nursing and again to public service, Cherri Rogers is ready to bring her experience, union values, and steady leadership to Harrisburg—standing up for workers, families, and communities in the 58th District."
Every dollar helps us reach more voters and take back District 58.
